Roofing keywords worth building a page for
Which roofing keywords deserve their own page, how to find the ones your site already shows for in Search Console, and four searches from a real roofing case.

A keyword tool will hand you a few hundred roofing phrases with a monthly volume next to each. We'd rather start with the jobs you want more of, the towns you work in, and what your own site already shows up for in Search Console.
We won't quote search volumes in this note. For small towns, keyword tools often show rough estimates or nothing at all, and Search Console impressions come from your own site, so we trust them more.
The searches worth a page
Service plus town. roof repair melbourne fl, roof replacement palm bay, roofers in [your town]. These are people ready to call someone. Each service you want to sell, in each town you really work, is a candidate for a page. Build those pages with real local content, as we explain in roofing service area pages, or they start to look like doorway pages.
Repair and replacement, separately. Someone with a leak and someone pricing a new roof want different things. Give each its own page. Our note on the roof replacement page shows what goes on the bigger of the two.
Storm and insurance questions. After a storm, homeowners search things like whether insurance covers wind damage or how to tell if a roof has hail damage. These fit articles better than service pages. We cover how to build them in storm damage roofing pages.
Material searches. Metal roofs, tile roofs, flat roof repair, shingle brands. Build a page only for materials your crews install. A page about tile when you don't do tile brings calls you'll turn away.
Near me searches. roofers near me and its variations mostly show the map results, and those come from your Google Business Profile. Across five sites we work on, we counted 1,250 near-me queries between April 2025 and August 2026, with 780 of them on page one. You don't need a page called "roofer near me." You need a complete, accurate Business Profile and a site that backs it up.
How to find yours in Search Console
- Open Performance, then Search results.
- Set the date range to the last 3 months, or longer if your site is older.
- On the Queries tab, add a query filter: Queries containing
roof. - Turn on Average position and sort by Impressions.
- Click any query, then the Pages tab, to see which page Google is showing for it.

Look for two things. Queries where the wrong page ranks, like your home page showing for a replacement search, tell you a page is missing. Queries with high impressions and a position between 10 and 30 tell you where a better page or a better title could move you onto page one.
Then use Compare in the date picker to put this year against last year. New queries appear as you build pages. On a roofing site we work on, 893 of the 1,099 searches it now shows for didn't show it at all the year before.
Four searches from a roofing case
That same site is a Florida roofing company we work on under an agency's name. These are four searches we tracked, comparing average position from October 2025 to August 2026 with the eleven months before.
| Search | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
roofing melbourne fl |
77 | 12.9 |
roof replacement melbourne fl |
70 | 15 |
roof repair melbourne fl |
51 | 18 |
roofers in brevard county fl |
86.7 | 28.5 |
The work behind it was title and meta rewrites across the site, a service page per town instead of one county page, FAQ and service schema, and long-form articles on the questions Florida homeowners ask after storms.
The county search still sits lowest of the four, at 28.5. The site shifted from one county page to a page per town, so that fits, though we can't prove the cause. The other three are service plus town searches, the group we'd build first on any roofing site.
Average position for the whole site went from 47.9 to 14.9 over the same period. Clicks grew more slowly, from 34 to 266, because a lot of the new visibility was still on page two. Moving those searches onto page one is where more clicks would come from.
Where to start
Pick your top three services and your top five towns. Check Search Console for what already shows up. Build or fix the pages that match, one at a time.
If you'd like us to build these pages for you, the Growth plan adds two new town or service pages a month; details are on our pricing page. Or send us your site with the towns and jobs you want more of.
